Use for Laboratory Experiments

The Challenges
The client was still using paper-based templates for their laboratory experiments. A LIMS system had only recently been implemented. The evaluation, analysis, and general susceptibility to errors inherent in the paper forms posed significant challenges. At the same time, the client was seeking a highly flexible system—one that would require minimal training effort and replicate the transition process as closely as possible to the familiar paper-based workflow.

The Solution
Using the Smart Document System<sup>(c)</sup>, the company digitized and structured all templates. The familiar look and feel—reminiscent of well-known office applications—and the integrated calculation features quickly gained acceptance among employees. The LIMS system and existing laboratory equipment were integrated, and with numerous additional interfaces in place, nothing stands in the way of the company’s continued growth.
The Result
The intelligent forms now enable faster and more accurate documentation of tasks such as sample dilution and data recording. Laboratory documentation is now fully digital, standardized, and transparent. Data access has been improved, error rates reduced, and traceability significantly increased. Results are immediately available as database-based data for analysis, trending, or AI evaluations, and the resulting transparency helps enhance both research and quality assurance.
