Datacenter Consolidation Projects
- Client: European Subsidiary of a Global Japanese Pharmaceutical Corporation
The Challenges
With the growing shift of IT services to the cloud, numerous local data centers became redundant. To reduce costs and complexity, these centers were to be consolidated into a few central locations. Regulatory requirements and security guidelines still had to be met.

The Solution
In a multi-phase process, we analyzed all servers, services, and applications at the affected sites. Based on this analysis, we developed a target architecture model with a consolidated location structure. For each migration unit, we created detailed migration plans, assessed risks, and identified required internal and external resources. The project was implemented in close cooperation with the client’s IT, compliance, and operations teams to ensure precise coordination of each migration step. After each step, we conducted success checks and documented the results. The final project evaluation confirmed goal achievement, and the project was successfully handed over to the client.
The Result
The result was a leaner, more efficient, and secure IT landscape. The client saved six-figure annual operating costs through consolidation. The new structure offers more transparency, requires less maintenance, and is prepared for future scaling. Security requirements were consistently implemented, and the internal IT organization benefited from simplified processes and clearly defined responsibilities.
